Beschrijving

De appelvink kan dé vink onder de vinken genoemd worden. Zowel als naam van soort als naam van ondersoort draagt hij de wetenschappelijke benaming ‘Coccothraustes’. Deze vogel is vooral een Oost- en West-Europese inwoner. Hij wordt tussen 14 en 16 cm groot een legt wel tot 6 eieren per nest !
